Today, I experienced a different side of ego-centrism.
Where?
In a supermarket's parking.
There are yellow parking lines that clearly shout in your face
(no matter how ignorant you were; God forbid)
HEL•LO MIS•TER/MAD•AM!
YOU CAN ON•LY PARK IN THE FUCK•ING SPACE
FORM•ED BE•TWEEN US, IN OR•DER TO LEAVE
A SPACE FOR THE PEO•PLE COM•ING AF•TER YOU.
Next time you park anywhere, think of the yellow lines
or their cousins the white ones.
I have seen police agents giving fines to such people in Dubai :-)
ReplyDeleteI reached home once at 4:00 am and noticed that the parking was full but one car has parked ON the yellow line. After I called the cops, not only did they fine the guy, but also, they called the poor fellow and knocked on his door ar 04:20am so that he parks well. His license was confiscated for a week and he will only get it if he passes a 4-hour course at the driving school!
The morale of the story: Never act based on your emotions. Even if it is 4:00am and you are tipsy! If only the police knew :-)
